Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that search. The provider processes the query and supplies the results. Pickett County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept as needed to prepare and deliver a response. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- The device's assigned IP address
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They help measure how people use the website, such as which pages receive the most visits and where a visit ends. Analytics providers combine traffic information for this purpose. A browser can be set to block cookies, although doing so may change how some website features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pickett County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general information about requesting Pickett County records from the Sheriff's Office, the courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Criminal Records Unit, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-record profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a search tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own practices for retaining and sharing data. Visitors should review those terms before running a search because Pickett County Criminal History does not direct the provider's data practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Pickett County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or third-party search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across different websites to select targeted ads. That tracking occurs through the provider's systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be available to these limited recipients:

How We Protect Your Data

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided personal data, that information will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary based on where a visitor lives. The Tennessee Public Records Act, TCA §§10-7-501 et seq., governs access to records held by Tennessee public agencies, while Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34 governs access to court records and recognizes protected, sealed, and otherwise confidential material. Those public-record rules do not convert visitor data held by a private operator into a government record. With respect to personal data held by us, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of personal information held about them
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that their personal data be deleted
- Decline certain forms of data processing
